Brandubh

It's been a long time since I posted in this blog! Little over three years ago .... Main reason is that I haven't found (or made) any hnefatafl sets in those 3+ years to add to the collection. But good things come to those who wait ...

Several years ago, I made myself a Brandubh set, and have now bought and added a very differently-looking one. Saw this set on Etsy, for very reasonable price, and pulled the trigger.

The set comes as a leather pouch with drawstring, which of course contains the pieces.

Release the drawstring, and the pouch opens to a 7 x 7 board.

The 8 + 5 (eh, Wolfgang?) pieces are simple acrylic hemi-globes, black for the eight attackers, and sparkly gold for the king and four defenders.

The king is distinguishable by a little eyelet.

Really nice brandubh set to add to the collection!
